HBO Logo Gets ‘Watchmen’ Makeover After Doctor Manhattan Shocker
A promo for the penultimate episode of HBO’s Watchmen gives the network’s logo a Doctor Manhattan themed redesign after the recent twist.
Major spoilers regarding Watchmen episode seven ahead!
After Watchmen‘s shock twist that Doctor Manhattan has been masquerading as Angela Abar’s husband all this time, the HBO logo got a blue redesign to mark the occasion. The dramatic reveal came at the end of the seventh episode, explaining that Cal’s amnesia was a way of protecting his real identity as Doctor Manhattan from the rest of the world. The new promo for the penultimate episode showed Watchmen fans how Angela and Doctor Manhattan originally got together.
The pair met in Vietnam since Angela was living in Saigon as a police officer at the time. The footage showed Doctor Manhattan wearing a mask of his own face while telling Angela that he loves her in the flashback. At the end of the promo, the HBO logo appears in Doctor Manhattan’s signature blue color, while also using his symbol as the “O” in the network’s name. It’s a clever redesign and it’ll be interesting to see if the network uses it from now on when promoting Watchmen. Check out the promo below.
