See Henry Cavill’s Superman Mustache For Justice League In New Photo
A brand new behind-the-scenes photo from Justice League gives fans a fresh look at Henry Cavill’s Superman mustache.
In 2017, Henry Cavill found himself at the centre of a hilarious controversy when Justice League hit theaters. The Superman actor grew a mustache for his role in Mission: Impossible – Fallout but was asked to return to Justice League to film additional scenes for the movie overseen by Joss Whedon, who replaced original director Zack Snyder. As a result, Warner Bros. had to digitally remove Henry Cavill’s facial hair to give the British actor the classic Superman look.
The results were laughable, with many criticizing Henry Cavill’s Superman look in Justice League. Even Henry Cavill himself addressed the “mustache fiasco” with a post on his official Instagram page. It’s now been more than two years since the release of the movie, but a newly-surfaced photo offers fans a behind-the-scenes look at Henry Cavill’s Superman mustache before the actor’s facial hair was digitally removed.

Henry Cavill’s future as Superman is currently uncertain amid reports on contentious contract negotiations and Warner Bros. and DC planning to focus their efforts on introducing Supergirl. Henry Cavill’s planned Superman cameo in the Shazam! movie was cut after negotiations to reprise his role fell through, though the actor has expressed his interest in returning to the role if asked. For now, Henry Cavill is set to trade in his Superman suit to bring Geralt of Rivia to life in Netflix’s The Witcher.
Henry Cavill was last seen as Superman in Justice League. Here’s the official synopsis for the movie:
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.
